Frog's Breath Foundation Celebrates Successful 2023 Grant Applications

[New Liskeard, July 2023] - The Frog's Breath Foundation is delighted to announce the successful grant recipients for the year 2023. Each year, we are humbled by the tremendous response from the communities of Northern Ontario, as we receive an abundance of high-quality applications. Our Foundation's mission is to support projects that make a significant impact on the lives of people across our region. Furthermore, we strive to distribute our donations across multiple communities in Northeastern Ontario, touching various aspects of community development, from social services and arts to education, medical provision, physical fitness, and amateur sports.


This year, the Frog's Breath Foundation is proud to have granted a total of $293,500 across ten community-led projects and charitable organizations in seven Northern Ontario communities: Temagami, Cobalt, Haileybury, New Liskeard, Englehart, and Charlton and Dack and Kirkland Lake.


The 2023 successful Frog's Breath grant recipients are as follows:


  1. 8 x 8 Utility Vehicle for Difficult Access & Wildland Fire Response Unit - City of Temiskaming Shores Fire Department

  2. Your Health, Our Mission Automated Ultrasound Probe Disinfector - Temiskaming Hospital Foundation Care to Close to Home Campaign

  3. Window Replacement - Camp Temiskaming

  4. Server Project Technology Refresh - Englehart Library

  5. Children's Department Refresh - Town of Kirkland Lake Teck Centennial Library

  6. Haileybury Branch 54 Main Hall Renovation Project - Branch 54 of the Royal Canadian Legion (Haileybury)

  7. Temagami Fire Tower Accessible Fairy Trail - Municipality of Temagami

  8. Installation of Stair Lift to become accessible to all - Northern Beacon Rebekah Lodge #212

  9. Roof and Siding to Protect our Facility - Charlton Royal Canadian Legion Branch 227

  10. Wheelchair Accessibility & Deck - Royal Canadian Legion Branch 44 Cobalt


In addition to our community grants, the Frog's Breath Foundation continues to provide annual contributions to local organizations as part of our commitment to community welfare. These fixed contributions include:


  1. Northern Ontario Food Bank Donation ($30,000/year)

    1. Beneficiaries: Haileybury Food Bank, Temagami Food Bank, Englehart & Area Food Bank, Cobalt/Coleman/Latchford & Area Food Bank, New Liskeard Salvation Army Food Bank, and Kirkland Lake Salvation Army Food Bank.

  2. Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) Scholarship ($5,000/year)

    1. Recipient: Selected by the NOSM board, the Frog's Breath Foundation funds this scholarship to recognize and support deserving Northern Ontario students.

  3. Northern Ontario High School Graduation Scholarship ($22,500/year)

    1. Scholarships Offered: Frog's Breath Foundation Community Citizenship Award and Grant Farms Stewardship Award.

    2. Recipients: Chosen by each school's Graduation Committee, students from TDSS, ESCSM, KLDCS, EHS, and ECJV are recognized for their outstanding achievements.

  4. Community Living Temiskaming South Walkathon Donation ($1,000/year)
